The Wine List

At The Belfry we like to offer our guests a great selection of wines at great value.  We're wine lovers ourselves and are in the process of tasting every wine on the list (someone has to do it!)  We have different preferences and don't always agree on which is better - the Grande Classique from Glen Carlou or the Chateau Tour de By.

Consequently our wine list is a bit of an eclectic hotch-potch.  Each wine is special in it's own right and we don't think there are too many wines on the list that are similar in character.

So not only have we got some fantastic wines to offer you but we've priced them right too.  These aren't bargain basement bottles of plonk, even the cheapest bottle is an excellent wine - it is our pricing policy (see below) that means we can pretty much guarantee you won't find these wines much cheaper, if at all in any restaurant in the South West and beyond.

Wine Price Policy

Most restaurants offer their wines for sale at a mark-up which is based on a multiple of between three and five times the cost of a bottle.

We think this makes the more interesting and more exciting wines too expensive and we like our guests to be able to enjoy the best wine with their meal.  So at The Belfry we now make the same amount on every bottle we sell, from our house wines to a bottle of Bollinger.o

Wines by the glass

We try to offer a range of contrasting styles rather than just go for bargain bucket plonk.  We personally enjoy each of these wines and they are all available by the bottle and their descriptions can be found in their main listing.
